The Woodside Arts Centre is a community oriented venue for the visual and performing arts.

The combined concert hall-art gallery occupies the main hall of a red-brick, turn-of-the-century house, one of the last remaining colonial homes in Hong Kong.

Nestled in the peaceful country park environs overlooking Quarry Bay, the Woodside Arts Centre offers an alternative venue for the enjoyment of the arts in Hong Kong. The historic and intimate nature of the house, and the idyllic countryside setting, create a unique ambience for experience art and music.

The Arts Centre was opened in February 1999 as a part of the educational and community outreach programme of The Institute of Cultural Affairs (Hong Kong) Ltd. The venue serves as a forum for professional, amateur and student musicians and artists to share their work with the public. The Arts Centre is also able to host theatre, dance and literary events, such as poetry reading, as well as workshops relating to the arts.

Since 1999, the Woodside Arts Centre has hosted a series of art exhibitions by local and overseas artists. Events include solo piano, violin and piano, and chamber ensemble concerts, featuring Hong Kong and visiting musicians. Concerts for young violinists and pianists have proved a great success with the students, their peers and families.

In its first year, the arts center receive more than 6000 visitors.

Guests at Woodside appreciate the quiet, aesthetically pleasing setting, the historic background of the house, and the convenient location minutes from two metro stations on King's Road, all of which make the house an attractive venue for arts events.

The house serves as the Hong Kong headquarters for The Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA), an international non-profit organisation "concerned with the human factor in world development". An advisor to the United Nations, ICA International conducts a variety of programmes focused on the social development needs of its member nations.

As a tenant of Woodside, ICA Hong Kong has renovated the building to restore its warmth and grandeur, and is pleased to offer the Woodside Arts Centre to the community
